Glen Acheampong
Data Analyst

Glen contributes to the processing, interpretation, and presentation of data for schools in the New Visions network. Prior to New Visions, he worked as a researcher for a nonprofit organization, conducting evaluations of in-school and out-of-school STEM interventions for young children and families. He also served as a fellow of the Graduate Education Diversity Internship with the American Evaluation Association. Glen holds an M.P.P. and an M.S. in global affairs from Rutgers University. 

Grace Ahn
Senior Program Officer, Leadership Programs

Grace is responsible for implementing New Visions' leadership and team development programs, particularly CLASS (Collaborative Leadership Advancing School Success) and TALENT (Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Team). Before coming to New Visions, Grace was a principal of a K-8 school in Los Angeles, serving students with autism. She has also coordinated services for students with disabilities across multiple districts and organizations. She holds two Masters of Arts in special education from California State University, Los Angeles and is a doctoral candidate in Urban Leadership at Teachers’ College, Columbia University.

Syntosha Allen
Program Coordinator

Syntosha is responsible for ensuring the smooth function of the New Visions Charter High Schools department while providing primary support in areas of State, Board and Parent Relations and Communications, as well as special events planning. Before coming to New Visions, she worked as a consultant helping schools brand their school space.  Syntosha was previously a member of the Replications Inc. team that opened more than 30 schools throughout New York City and Baltimore. She holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University.

Frandy Andujar
Systems Development Coordinator

Frandy is responsible for developing and providing support for sorter and formative assessment tools. Before coming to New Visions, he worked as a research assistant, helping with various technical tools and researching a variety of topics, including medical education and health disparities. He was also one of the organizers of the High School and Middle School Science Bowl qualifiers. He holds a B.E. from The City College of New York, CUNY and is currently pursuing an M.S. in computer science.

Aruna Arjunan
Instructional Specialist, U.S. History

Aruna Arjunan has joined New Visions as an instructional specialist responsible for piloting and implementing New Visions' US History curriculum in multiple New Visions schools this academic year. Working with Gilder Lehrman, she will also implement a three-part workshop series for U.S. history and ELA teachers that blends literacy skills practice with history instruction. Prior to working at New Visions, she taught  in both neighborhood and magnet schools in Philadelphia for eight years. She holds a B.A. in cognitive science and economic history from the University of Rochester and an M.S. in secondary social studies education from the University of Pennsylvania.

Zoraida Baez
Strategic Data Facilitator

Zoraida works with a portfolio of New Visions’ Affinity schools to implement a set of New Visions data tools and develop the reliable organizational processes that ensure all students have the best possible chance of graduating from high school. Before coming to New Visions, she worked as a program manager for a multi-service healthcare and educational organization, focusing on increasing market share and ensuring compliance with NYC department of health regulations. Previously she was an evaluations intake coordinator for a non-profit early intervention organization. She holds a B.S. in business administration from Georgetown University. 

Stephanie Barreyro
Application Developer

Stephanie is responsible for growing and maintaining the New Visions suite of CloudLab applications. Before joining New Visions, she worked as a software developer at a NYC startup and as a tutor for high school students attending summer school at University of California, Berkeley. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and human development from University of California, Davis and is a graduate from DevBootcamp.

Yolanda Basora

Yolanda Basora joined New Visions in 2008. She provides front-desk, facilities and office services support. Her experience includes three years with Project Renewal, where she served as an administrative assistant in the outreach department. Her previous employers include OPS, Inc. and HSBC Bank.

Cassandra Bayer
Data Analyst

Cassandra contributes to the processing, analysis, and presentation of data for schools in the New Visions network. Prior to joining New Visions, she worked as a high school teacher in Brooklyn via Teach For America, where she became impassioned to use empirical methodology to reform urban public schools. Cassandra has worked in data-driven education and policy think tanks and provided policy recommendations for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and Mayor's Office in San Francisco, California. She holds an M.P.P. from the University of California, Berkeley and an MSt from Fordham Graduate School of Education.

Arella Blumenthal
Accounting Manager, CPA

Arella joined New Visions in 2012. She is responsible for facilitating and completing the monthly, quarterly and annual close for New Visions and its charter schools.  She oversees and assists in the creation of improved internal controls and processes within the finance department. Arella previously worked as the financial controller for the Girl Scout Council of Greater NY. She has worked with not-for-profit organizations for over ten years, both within the public and private sectors. She holds a B.S. in accounting from Yeshiva University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the state of New York.

Lorraine Boyhan
Director of School Support

Lorraine Boyhan joined New Visions in 2010. She is currently the Director of School Support for thirty New Visions Affinity schools located in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. She oversees services provided to these schools and is responsible for providing targeted support to a subgroup of eleven schools. While working at New Visions, Boyhan has served as a Network Leader, School Support Facilitator and Leadership Development Facilitator. Prior to joining New Visions, she served as the Director of Curriculum and Accountability for District 75, as a Local Instructional Superintendent for the NYC Department of Education and as the founding Principal of PS. 372K – The Children’s School. She holds a B.A in education from Hunter College and an M.A. in special education from Brooklyn College.

Corey Brown
Software Engineer

Corey Brown joined New Visions in 2009. He is responsible for engineering software solutions across the organization and the network of New Visions Charter High Schools. Prior to joining New Visions, Corey worked at Como Park High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. He holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota.

Jahque Bryan-Gooden
Resident Researcher

Jahque supports the policy unit in qualitative and quantitative research to develop programs, apply best practices, and assist in organizational projects. Jahque is a Young People For fellow and previously interned at Law and Policy Group Inc. and the Center for American Progress. She holds a Bachelor's in decision science from Carnegie Mellon University with a minor in history, politics and public policy. She is currently pursuing a Master's in education policy and social analysis at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Kimberley Cambridge
Deputy Director, Community and Family Engagement

Kimberley joined New Visions in 2012. She plays a key role in brokering partnerships and developing school capacity to build and sustain partnerships and enrichment opportunities for students in New Visions district and charter schools as well as within the New Visions network. She also works collaboratively with the New Visions Charter High Schools instructional, leadership and operations teams to create bridges between curriculum, school operations, accountability and community engagement in service of student achievement. Kim brings over 20 years of experience working in the field of youth development and community building.  She holds a Master's in organizational change management from Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at the New School.

Moraima Campanella
Office Manager

Moraima Campanella joined New Visions in 2004. She is responsible for managing office services, supervising the front-desk staff and planning organizational events. Prior to joining New Visions, she managed tenant services for Vornado Realty Trust and brings 15 years of experience in office administration and support.

Jared Carrano
Lead Full Stack Developer

Jared joined New Visions in 2012, originally as a resident researcher. He currently supports New Visions and its schools by developing applications that simplify data collection and analysis to inform strategic decision-making. He previously worked as a research assistant for The Center for New York City Affairs. He holds a B.A. in geology from the University of Vermont and an M.S. in urban policy analysis from Milano School for International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy, The New School.

Romina Carrillo Gutierrez
School Support Facilitator

Romina Carrillo Gutierrez joined New Visions in 2005. She provides instructional leadership and professional development to the schools in the Bronx network and previously served as director of the New Century High Schools Initiative. Prior to joining New Visions, she served as a bilingual teacher, trainer and assistant superintendent in urban school districts, and has taught teacher education and educational leadership programs at Brown University, Mills College and Harvard University. She holds an Ed.D. from Harvard University.

E. Lydell Carter
Senior Program Officer

Ernest Lydell Carter joined New Visions in 1999. He provides professional and technical expertise to parents and other stakeholders in New Visions schools. He previously served as a leadership development facilitator at New Visions and led the charter school assistance center. Prior to joining New Visions, he served as director of the educational talent search at Aspira of New York and deputy director of the "I Have a Dream" Foundation. He holds a B.A. from SUNY Binghamton.

Nicole Charette
Instructional Specialist, ELA

Nicole is responsible for continuing to create and provide feedback on the evolving high school ELA curriculum. Prior to New Visions, she was a founding staff member, the former English department head, and most recently, the director of teacher development at MESA Charter High School. She began her teaching career in Baltimore City as a Teach for America corps member and taught at the pilot Democracy Prep Charter High School, where she contributed to the composition of the English curriculum for the network. Nicole holds a B.A. in English literature from Loyola University in Maryland and a M.A.T. from Johns Hopkins University. 

Elizabeth Chatham
Instructional Specialist

Libby is responsible for supporting science teacher teams in integrating discipline-specific literacy strategies aligned to the Common Core. She previously served as the founding science teacher of a New Visions high school. She holds a B.S. in ecology and zoology from the University of Florida, an M.A. in secondary science education from Teachers College, and a graduate certificate in the supervision and administration of schools from Johns Hopkins University.

Julia Chu
Application Developer

Yan (Julia) Chu is responsible for maintaining and developing New Visions' suite of Google-based applications, CloudLab Add-ons. Prior to coming to New Visions, she worked as a consultant, providing front-end development services to a pharma company and materials R&D company.  She holds an M.S. in materials science engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology and a B.S. in engineering from Shanghai University. 

Tianya Coachman
Senior HRIS/Payroll Systems Analyst

Tianya is responsible for transmitting payroll, processing time and attendance and providing general support to the HR Team. Before coming to New Visions, she worked for five years as a human resources assistant at the Natural Resources Defense Council supporting the director and deputy director of HR. She holds a B.A. in English from Spelman College.

Allison Cohen
Deputy Director, Data Analytics

Allison joined New Visions in 2012. She is responsible for providing data analysis and reporting to support data-driven decision-making within the organization.  Prior to joining New Visions, Allison worked in various youth development, research, and advocacy organizations in both the non-profit and public sectors in New York and San Francisco.  She holds a master's degree in public policy from the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor's in sociology from Emory University.

Amy Cohen
High Schools Team Lead

Amy works with a portfolio of NYCDOE Community Schools to implement a set of New Visions data tools and develop the reliable organizational processes that ensure all students have the best possible chance of graduating from high school. Prior to New Visions, she served as a deputy campus director in charge of regional academic programming with Citizen Schools--Massachusetts.  She was previously a high school teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and holds an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Muhlenberg College.

Craig Cutler
Data Manager

Craig is responsible for improving the New Visions data warehouse efforts and data automation. Previously, he served as the director of technology at Eventra, a software-as-a-service (SAAS) company, where he led a team of engineers and developers in improving applications and infrastructure. Prior to Eventra, Craig was the manager of integration services and imaging for Multiplan, a health insurance company. Craig holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Hofstra University.  

Sarah Darby
Data Manager

Sarah is responsible for handling PowerSchool administration, student programming, and strategic data facilitation for New Visions AIM Charter High Schools. Previously, she worked in a similar capacity for ROADS charter transfer schools. She has also served as a consultant on varied projects for school districts, including developing a school accountability framework, strategizing union negotiations and identifying process gaps in the management of external contractors.  Sarah has a B.A. in philosophy from Amherst College and is completing an M.A. in education policy from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Vernon David
Senior Program Officer, Charter Network Assessment

Vernon is responsible for overseeing the charter network's system of assessments; developing assessment data reports; and coordinating network assessment policy and implementation. He joins New Visions from the Academy for Environmental Leadership where he served as a mathematics teacher and testing coordinator.  He holds a B.S. in engineering, electrical concentration from LeTourneau University and three Master's degrees: Master of Engineering, Electrical Engineering from CUNY, Master of Science in teaching, Secondary Mathematics from PACE University as well as a Master of Education, school building leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Danielle Del Valle
Charter Teacher Residency Project Director

Danielle is responsible for providing professional development and support to residents, mentors and program leads in the charter teacher residency program. Prior to this role, she was an assistant principal at New Visions Charter High School for the Humanities, overseeing the social studies department, programming/scheduling, and online blended learning courses. Before joining New Visions, she was an English teacher for nine years, as well as a program chair, curriculum coordinator and mentor in high schools throughout the Bronx and Harlem. Danielle was a NYC teaching fellow and holds a B.A. in English and studio art, with a minor in Latin American and Caribbean studies from Binghamton University. She also holds an M.S. in secondary English education from Lehman College and an advanced certificate in educational leadership from Stony Brook University.

Nadine Dillon
Senior Communications Officer

Nadine Dillon joined New Visions in 2011. She is responsible for developing content strategies, supporting web and print publications, marketing, media relations, public and community engagement, advocacy efforts, branding and positioning. She previously served as communications and development manager for the Beginning with Children Foundation and provided communications services to a charter school and faith-based organization in Brooklyn. She holds a B.A. in communications and media studies from Fordham University.

Anna Dizon
Human Resources Business Partner

Anna joined New Visions in 2013. She is responsible for supporting hiring needs at New Visions. Previously, she spent 12 years working at the Sports and Arts in Schools Foundation, serving in a variety of school and office based roles, most recently, as the assistant human resources manager, where she oversaw the hiring process for 300+ staff, annually, spanning approximately 80 NYC DOE schools. Anna is currently pursuing her master's degree in early childhood education from St. John's University.

Debrann Dukes

Debrann Dukes joined New Visions in 1992. She provides front-desk, facilities and office services support. Prior to joining New Visions, she worked at CNA Insurance Company as an underwriting assistant.

Kevin Duncan
Systems Developer

Kevin is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain effective software solutions. Prior to his current role, he spent three years as an intern in various roles with the New Visions technology unit. He holds a B.S. in computer science from Fordham University.

Kerrianne Eames
Senior Graphic Designer

Kerrianne is responsible for conceptualizing and implementing visual design solutions in support of New Visions programming and fundraising efforts. Most recently, she served as manager of graphic design at Teach for America (TFA), where her accomplishments included leading the design of merchandise and marketing strategy for TFA's online store, and leading the creative design of TFA's multimillion-dollar fundraising events. She holds a bachelor's in visual communications from Farmingdale State College, SUNY.

Jeanne Eng
Director of Technology

Jeanne Eng joined New Visions in 2004. She manages daily technology needs and is responsible for the administration, maintenance and management of the computer and telecom infrastructure. Prior to joining New Visions, Eng managed a technology program that focused on assisting the nonprofit sector to plan and implement strategic and programmatic use of technology. She holds a B.S. in business administration from SUNY Buffalo.

Jamie Esperon
Senior Program Officer, Leadership Programs

Jamie Esperon is responsible for supporting the continued implementation of New Visions' leadership and team development programs, particularly CLASS (Collaborative Leadership Advancing School Success) and TALENT (Teacher and Leader Effectiveness Team). She has over 20 years of experience, as a teacher, counselor, dean and administrator. Before joining New Visions, Jamie was the founding principal of New World Preparatory, a 6-8 charter school dedicated to serving immigrant children in Staten Island. She holds a B.A. in Liberal Studies and an M.A. in Special Education both from Point Loma Nazarene University.

Isabella Fante
Strategic Data Facilitator

Isabella works with a portfolio of NYC DOE district schools to implement New Visions data tools and develop reliable organizational processes to help students graduate from high school. Before coming to New Visions, she worked as an assistant director at a Bronx middle school where she helped to implement a community schools model. She previously served as a corps member with City Year San Jose. She holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Fordham University and a master's in public administration from the City College of New York. 

Kim Ferguson
Program Officer, Teacher and Leadership Certification.

Kim is responsible for supporting the recruitment and admissions of teacher and leadership candidates for the CLASS, UTR and MASTER programs. Additionally, she is responsible for overseeing knowledge management for all New Visions teacher certification programs. Before coming to New Visions, Kim served as school director at Magnet Theater, where she managed the marketing of programs, the hiring of teachers and enrollment and scheduling for students. Kim holds a B.A. from Florida State University in creative writing.  

Andrew Fisher
Systems Administrator

Andrew is responsible for managing and maintaining several core technology systems and services at New Visions, as well as working with our G-Suite Coordinator to facilitate schools' adoption of the G-Suite platform.  Before coming to New Visions, he spent over 10 years supporting and implementing technology for the New York-based architecture firm Davis Brody Bond.  He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Binghamton University.

Alexandra Foglia
Talent Acquisition Associate

Alexandra (Ali) Foglia is responsible for leading teacher recruitment efforts for New Visions Charter High Schools and supporting organization-wide recruitment activities through job fairs, information sessions and candidate screenings. Before joining New Visions, Ali served as a corps member with Teach for America, a first-grade teacher with Achievement First, and a recruitment consultant with Adaptive Business Group. She holds a Master's degree in special education from Brooklyn College.
