Work at HUM III

At NVCHS for the Humanities III, we recognize that the number one factor impacting student achievement is teacher quality.

At Humanities III, teachers benefit from a robust community of educators who collaborate and share best practices, lesson plans, and strategies for improved student learning. Teachers exchange curricular resources, share innovative tools and learning from one another through weekly co-planning meetings, department meetings, inter visitations and network level professional development workshops.

New Visions coaches and instructional specialist partner with teachers and school staff to design and implement Common Core-aligned curricula. Teachers have access to customizable, high quality, curated resources, including formative assessments, instructional tools, and differentiated materials to help them cater to the needs of each student. New Visions offers free, open-source curriculum by and for teachers. Visit our Curriculum and Instruction website for more details.

We believe that all young people, regardless of economic status, can learn and succeed. Our students come from high-need neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn.
