During our Career Day, we hosted a bevy individuals involved in careers ranging from Law to Technology, Business to Literature, and Engineering to Media. The diversity of the panelists and versatility of skills exhibited were some of the strongest aspects of this new initiative. Another beautiful thing about this Career Day was that each professional came to the school as a staff referred volunteer. They arrived with the desire to tell one’s story and illuminate a potential career path for the young ladies and gentlemen in attendance. These students listened to men and women tell their tales and speak from the heart regarding their capabilities and thought process as a high school student. Each professional explained their decisions to go to or pass on a college education. This really helped our students understand that we all find our own route to success. Some people make it to their rightful place in society after excelling in high school and some wind up in their professional landing place after underperforming in school. This day also helped our students understand how important relationships and networking are. Each and every person that they saw and listened to was a friend or associate of one of their teachers/educators and that is a powerful fact to keep in mind as you grow older and meet more people in this world.

This experience is one we hope the students never forget and plan to continue each and every year.
